Happy Tuesday, everyone! Let’s begin to enjoy some holiday fun, as I share with you my day at the Christmas Market.
Abilene’s huge Christmas Market is a fundraiser and hosted by the local Junior League.
This was my first time to attend, and it was so much fun…I would have gone back the next day if we had not left town.
There are few things more fun and festive than a great local Christmas market.
You can see here and on the tree behind me decorated with vinyl that the theme was Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree…and we certainly rocked on.
I attended with my daughter and one of her co-workers who is also in Junior League.
First allow me to explain what I wore to the Christmas market….
MY DAY AT THE CHRISTMAS MARKET: WHAT I WORE
The day we attended the Christmas market, the weather was right at 90 degrees!
I was not ready yet to pull out Christmas attire…though many women did…and I wanted to be comfortable in the heat
So, I decided to go with a fall outfit featuring a older JJill linen blazer in this cinnamon color.
Under the blazer, I wore a brown Eileen Fisher linen tank and over Eileen Fisher crepe slim fit pants in green.
You can tell from my posts that I wear Eileen Fisher often, so my cost per wear on these items gets lower and lower all the time.
The scarf is so old that I do not remember where I got it, but the colors are perfect to go with the blazer.
I am also wearing brown faux pearls in a lovely necklace I purchased at Addie’s Boutique in Abilene.
I was confident and felt great in what I wore.
MY DAY AT THE CHRISTMAS MARKET: SOME OF WHAT WE SAW
There was so much shopping to do and see at this Christmas market.
The majority of the boutiques were new to me and I do want to re-visit several of their stores.
My daughter’s friend is pregnant with a little girl and she was mesmerized with the baby clothes and items.
So much to see and shop…it was overwhelming…but lots of fun.
Remember, I shared in the post, 2025 Fashion Trends: Bows, that bows are trending this year….well, they were everywhere at the Christmas Market.
And the times and designs with the bows were so, so cute.
Something else that is still popular to wear are coins…and there were many at the Christmas market.
I was tempted…but kept most of my spending to family…I did purchase one little Christmas top that I will show you later.
There were also tons of cute decorating ideas.
Looks like Christmas toile is also on trend this year for clothing and decorations. My daughter picked up a lovely red toile table runner.
MY DAY AT THE CHRISTMAS MARKET: A GOOD TIME WAS HAD BY ALL
Yes, the Christmas market was fun.
I want to go on record as saying that I am completely in favor of beginning early celebrations.
I love the joy and excitement of this season so much, that stretching it out a little longer is fine with me.
We returned this weekend to many more Christmas lights up on homes and colder weather…so I am in..let the celebrations begin.
The Christmas Market was a great way to kick it off…now, I just need to convince Mr. B to get the decorations up earlier…that will be a tougher hill to climb.
