Happy Tuesday! I have spent time with the new mailers, and I am ready to show you Standouts in October New Arrivals.
For something to be a standout in the October new arrivals, it must be different from what I have seen in the past during this time of year.
So, many of these collections are just repeats of the past, and I desired to note the standouts, which seemed really legitimately new in the new arrivals.
I am only showing you J.Jill, Talbots, and JC Penney today. Most of you shop these links on my shopping link page.
You also shop CHICO’S NEW ARRIVALS, but nothing really stood out to me there as new and different…though there are so pretty pieces.
Please join me today as we look over what I see to be the standouts in October new arrivals….
STANDOUTS IN OCTOBER NEW ARRIVALS: J.JILL
This MAJESTIC COWL NECK SWEATER is a standout piece to me…but only in the burnt sienna, navy and pottery colors.
Those three colors (and not the gray print) are very chic, and I love the length and cowl neck of this sweater. It is a beauty.
These pants also look very expensive, and would be perfect for lunches, outings, church, or any event where you want to elevate your casual style.
These are the HERRINGBONE STRAIGHT-LEG TROUSERS. …and don’t they look great with loafers.
One of the biggest STANDOUTS in the October New Arrivals for J.Jill is the addition of Curvy-Fit Jeans and Pants.
This sizing is new to J.Jill and does benefit those of us with a fluffy middle section. I have already ordered a pair to see about the fit.
The pant featured here does come in the Curvy-Fit sizing and is a lovely casual pant…I am a huge fan of this new shade of green called woodbine.
These are the PATCH-POCKET WIDE-LEG JEANS. They are available in more colors.
The textured sweater trend is looking great in this new cardigan in the October new arrivals.
Paired with windowpane pants, is the MIXED CABLE LONG CARDIGAN in a dark oatmeal color.
I really like the look of this sweater…a bit more modern style…putting it in the standouts, because it is different.
This is the RIBBED COLORBLOCK SWEATER in sandbar heather/chocolate heather.
This was not a standout to me, but I believe it is to some of you.
More than one mentioned this jacket on the cover of the October new arrivals mailer….which was styled over the shoulder and not on the model as this one.
Though I agree that it is a nice piece, it did not fall under something different to me.
Also, after seeing the jacket on the model, did you feel the same way about it? I would love to know.

STANDOUTS IN OCTOBER NEW ARRIVALS: TALBOTS
The majority of Talbots New Arrivals were fall designs and colors I have seen them do before, but in seeking something new, I did find four standouts in the October New Arrivals.
This is a fun and different jacket. It is the BUFFALO CHECK TIPPED JACKET in ivory and indigo.
I would definitely wear this one, and love it with the message tee underneath.
We have seen many puffer vests, but not with gold snowflakes!
So this one wins as a standout…and the length is very nice.
This is the DOWN PUFFER VEST – SCATTERED SNOWFLAKES.
Also, the fun sweater underneath is the RIBBED TURTLENECK SWEATER – METALLIC STRIPE.
Metallic is a word that stands out more this year at Talbots…there are more selections with metallic threads in the designs than in the past.
This is one….THE PERFECT METALLIC TURTLENECK in three very pretty colors.
I know…ponchos are not new, however, the design and color of this one makes it a standout in the October New Arrivals.
I love the buttons and neckline, and the ivory color looks luscious…this is the COWL-NECK PONCHO.
Very chic!
STANDOUTS IN OCTOBER NEW ARRIVALS: JC PENNEY
Yes…footwear caught my attention first in the October New Arrivals at JC PENNEY.
I think this boot is gorgeous and should be in the standouts for October new arrivals.
It is the FRYE and Co. Womens MAYVIS STACKED HEEL RIDING BOOTS in cognac.
One comment says they run small and to size up…and another comment says they are amazing and she purchased in two colors.
I thought two Frye boots deserved to be in the October standouts.
This one is the FRYE AND CO. WOMEN’S HELIA STACKED HEEL BOOTIES in black.
I like the Western look to these booties.
And JC Penney sales give you a substantial savings on these name brands.
What stood out to me with this particular plaid shirt were the color combinations….something for everyone.
This shirt also appears to have good fit, making it a standout selection.
This is the ST. JOHN’S BAY WOMENS CUFFED LONG SLEEVE RELAXED FIT BUTTON DOWN SHIRT….I like the polka dot selection as well.
These are your standouts in the October New Arrivals for J.Jill, Talbots, and JC Penney…remember, I was looking for something different.
